Overview

Wine evening in Vrbnik is an ideal excursion for all wine and dine enthusiasts. During the tour, you will taste the local white wine žlahtina, and learn all about its characteristics and production. The grapes for this wine grow only in Vrbnik on the island of Krk.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to taste as many as eight local Krk wines, liqueurs, and brandies. You will enjoy traditional Krk pasta - šurlice and other selected Krk specialities.

You will get to know Vrbnik and enjoy a guided walk through the labyrinth of alleys of this ancient town in a small group with a local guide.

The excursion begins with a guided tour of Vrbnik, which lasts about an hour and a half. You will be accompanied by a local guide in a very small group. You will hear many interesting stories and experience Vrbnik in a new way.

The guide will then accompany you to the family winery, where you will have a tour of the cellar and hear a story about the characteristics of autochthonous Vrbnik wines. In this family winery, you will have a guided tasting of 7 interesting Krk wines (approx. 0.5 dcl per wine):

Biser – pearl wine produced from Vrbnik Zlahtina according to the Prosecco method
Žlahtina Ivan Katunar - dry white wine, autochthonous vrbnička žlahtina with refined fruit and mineral aromas
Muscat Ivan Katunar – semi-sweet aromatic Muscat wine
Chardonnay - a premium dry white wine of controlled origin
Rosé - premium semi-dry rosé wine of controlled origin (merlot 60% cabernet sauvignon 40%)
Sansigot - high-quality dry red wine of controlled origin (sansigot or sušćan black 100%)
Dessert wine St. Ivan - sweet dessert wine from žlahtina

A visit to the winery lasts about an hour and a half. We have also prepared a non-alcoholic tour for drivers and people who do not drink alcohol (please note when booking).

After visiting the winery, in a nearby tavern, enjoy the famous Krk delicacy - homemade traditional pasta - šurlica with goulash, along with salad and cake.

Šurlice is a favourite Krk dish, a widely known Krk speciality that is always on the holiday table. This simple but ingeniously made pasta will surely win you over. Along with šurlice with goulash, taste another traditional local red wine from Krk - Brajda - a mixture of dry wines from autochthonous Krk wine varieties.

In addition to Brajdica, you will have the opportunity to try eight types of brandy and liqueur: vine, herbal, fig, lemon, cuve, sour cherry, sage and mead.

In these 4 hours of an extremely rich program, you will have the opportunity to:

see Vrbnik in a slightly different way with a local guide
visit a family winery that has been engaged in winemaking for decades and in its cellars keeps top-quality wines that you will be able to taste and buy
enjoy the traditional homemade pasta from Krk - šurlice with goulash

This activity requires a minimum number of participants - 4 persons. If this tour minimum number has not been met, we will alert you at least 24 hours before the tour to re-schedule or cancel. If you cannot take the alternative dates and the tour is cancelled due to the minimum number of participants, you will get a full refund.

The tour was a great experience. We had so much fun with our small group and the guide was amazing. She lives here and she knows all the “dirty” details. The winery was excelent. We definitely recommend this tour!!!

This winetasting tour was really worth the money. Interesting wines, big diversity of flavours and every location offered other delicious snacks and food with the wines. the guide was really really nice, you feel that she loves her job and she gave us so many interestig information and stories about Croatia, Krk and Vrbnik. Highly recommended to everyone who loves wine, nice locations and good food. Little advice: Drink and eat carefully and slowly, because you will get a lot ;-)
