Krasno, a small village located in the Lika region of Croatia, is known for its cheese production, particularly two types of cheese: Krasno cheese and squeak cheese (škripavac).
Cheese from Krasno and squeak cheese (škripavac) are famous Lika cheeses that you can taste in a small family cheese farm in Krasno.
Krasno cheese is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese traditionally produced in the area. It has a mild flavor with a slightly salty taste. Squeak cheese (škripavac) is a hard cow's milk with a strong, sharp flavor and a crumbly texture.
Both kinds of cheese are made using traditional methods and can be found in local markets and shops throughout Lika.
