Caiman – The Small Crocodile with Big Abilities

Caimans belong to the crocodile family and inhabit rivers in South and Central America. There are five species, the most famous being the common caiman, along with four subspecies.

✔ Reproduction: females lay eggs in nests, carefully guarding them

Although they may look dangerous, caimans are less aggressive than larger crocodiles, but they are fast and skillful hunters.

Iguanas are fascinating reptiles found in the tropical regions of the Caribbean, Central, and South America. These herbivorous animals spend most of their days basking on tree branches.

✔ Size and weight: can grow up to 1.5 m and weigh up to 10 kg

✔ Fun fact: they have a "third eye", a photosensitive organ on their head that helps them detect shadows and movement above them

In case of danger, iguanas use quick reflexes and their tail as a defense tool. If a predator catches them by the tail, it can detach and regrow!

The sterlet is a species of sturgeon that inhabits the tributaries of the Black and Caspian Seas.
