The Kupa River is mighty, unpredictable, and incredibly diverse, offering an exhilarating adventure through the stunning landscapes of Gorski Kotar.
Its vivid turquoise source is hidden within Risnjak National Park, and after a 292 km winding journey through Croatia’s mountainous and lowland regions, the river flows into the Sava near Sisak.
Despite its source being just 20 km from the Adriatic Sea, the Kupa carries the abundant waters of Gorski Kotar all the way to the distant Black Sea, creating an extraordinary natural phenomenon.

In its upper mountainous course, the Kupa carves through the breathtaking Sv. Ana Canyon, surrounded by dense forests. This section of the river features five thrilling rapids, guaranteeing excitement, adrenaline, and pure fun in nature.
Rafting on the Kupa – A Unique Experience in Every Season
- Spring & Autumn: With a higher water level, rafting is done in large 10-person rafts, ensuring a dynamic and thrilling ride.
- Summer: When the water level is lower, we switch to smaller inflatable canoes or kayaks for 2-3 people, allowing seamless navigation through all river sections.
Regardless of the season, the excitement remains the same! Each time of year offers a unique perspective of the Kupa’s beauty.
Who Can Participate?
✔ Family-Friendly Rafting: Children aged 8 and above can participate year-round. During the warm summer months, rafting is also suitable for children as young as 6.
✔ Safe & Fun for the Youngest Adventurers! For children aged 3 to 6, we recommend a canoe safari—a more relaxed, yet equally enjoyable experience.
✔ Minimum group size for a private tour is 4 people. If you don’t have your own group, you can join the first available one.
What to Expect?
- Duration: 3-4 hours, including 2 hours on the river
- Route Length: 8-15 km, depending on water levels
- Swimming Break: 15-minute stop to cool off and jump into the river
- Preparation: Upon arrival, you will receive all necessary rafting equipment and take a short transfer by van to the starting point, where you will change into neoprene suits and other rafting gear in designated tents.
Important: Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit – there will be time for swimming in the river!

Itinerary
- Arrive at the rafting base at 10:30.
- Sharing the equipment, getting to know the rafting section and driving to the start by van.
- At the start, we change into neoprene suits and other rafting equipment in the changing tents.
- Rafting takes 3-4 hours, of which we are 2 hours on the river.
- There is a 15-minute break on the river for swimming and jumping.
- Return by van to the rafting base.

- The rafting price includes all the necessary rafting equipment, experienced and engaged guides, insurance and photos from the trip.
- Children from the age of 8 can participate in rafting, and from the beginning of June to the end of August, when the weather is nice and warm and the water level is lower, children from the age of 6 can also participate in rafting.
- For this trip, it is necessary to check availability in advance. When you send us an inquiry or reservation, we first check if the desired date is available. If not, we will suggest the next possible free term.
